On November 13, 2019, the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia Eric Grigoryan approved the State Expertise on Environmental Impact Assessment for the Construction and Operation of a New 254 MW Combined Steam and Gas Cycle (HPP) in Yerevan.

According to the positive conclusion, the potential impact of the planned activities on the environmental performance is within the permissible norm.

Public discussions were held in accordance with the legislation, during which the local authorities and the public approved the implementation of the planned activities.

During the examination process the draft was refined, comments and suggestions were taken into account.
